History of Windows Wallpapers
November 28th, 2007In 1975, Officetalk, an experimental office system was developed. It was the first to utilize a distinguishable background with overlapping windows. It had a 25% gray tone which was dinstinguishable from window interiors. A similar background was used by Apple for both Lisa and Macintosh. The introduction of color monitors always gave birth to the use of non-patterned backgrounds. Eventually, arbitrary wallpapers were used by computer owners.
