There are two purposes behind the existence of wallpapers and these are on the following aspects: design and entertainment. It matters not how beautiful the wallpaper on your computer may be, because staring enough at the same image too many times will bore anyone. The popular website/blog  Smashing Magazine has been known for offering resources and advice to web developers and web designers and recently they featured a post on Desktop Wallpaper Calendar.
