Ever wished there was a way to turn your boring desktop quite different, why not try out some animated wallpapers to liven things out. These nifty add-ons to your desktop can even be quite interactive, studded with Easter eggs that makes hidden messages visible and many other nifty features. They can be quite large compared to a simple static desktop wallpaper so be sure you have ample disk space. You should also check for compatibility with your system for some of them come as part of complete themes that may not be designed to work with your system. Your graphics card may also strain if you happen to have an embedded one, your system may tax heavy on resources such as memory and others that can cause system crashes.
Animated graphics are normally loaded onto the computer’s memory that then sends it to your graphics card for display. Should your wallpaper of choice be part of a theme, get down to setting it all up so you don’t get any surprises with a frozen system that just won’t respond. Be safe and ensure it comes from a legitimate and safe source, you may get a surprise in the form of a virus or other form of malware.
