Most wallpapers are raster graphics with the same size as the display resolution of the monitor. These usually have a 4:3 proportion. Common resolutions are 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, and 1600 x 1200. Wallpapers are usually in the .png and .jpeg formats. The designs of the wallpapers themselves are as varied as computer users’ tastes and preferences.
